This review is for 12/24 Hour Switching Task Timer, Timer for Kids, Visual Schedule for Kids with Autism, Visual Schedule for Kids, Time Management Tools, Autism Increase Self-Regulation, with 99-Minute CountdownAs a licensed teacher for exceptional children and a former homeschool mom, I was curious about this product, wanting to see if it would be something to recommend to the homeschooling community or to my teaching peers who are working with kiddos with special needs.I had initially thought it would be for homes, but the cards can be customized to things like “lunch” or “ELA” so that it would be appropriate in the classroom as well. I used to teach a classroom of students with moderate to severe disorders – mostly autism – and I would have loved to have something like this.The best feature is the visual of time passing. Children get to see not only that some time has elapsed, but how much more of it there will be until the next activity (so the current one isn’t going to last forever). The built-in calendar also aids students in understanding time passage on a larger scale and could be incorporated into a morning routine.I love, love, love that the alarm can be customized so that kiddos with feedback / input issues will be able to turn it off altogether.They’ve really thought of everything here, and they clearly had children with autism in mind when making this product. Any child who struggles with the passing of time and with organizing the day will love to have this product.
